Pack it in for the last blowout of the summer this Labor Day Weekend as Russell Lands On Lake Martin presents headliner Sister Hazel in concert at the Lake Martin Amphitheater Sunday, September 6 at 7 pm. Opening for Sister Hazel will be southeastern favorite Trotline.

“Russell Lands is excited to welcome back to the amphitheater Sister Hazel for the fourth straight Labor Day weekend concert,” says Dave Commander, Vice President of Marketing for Russell Lands. “For the last 3 years Sister Hazel has drawn an unbelievable crowd to the amphitheater and puts on a tremendous show. This is a great way to close out the summer on Lake Martin.”

Through a work ethic few bands can match, pure innovativeness and a genuine love for interacting with their fans, the members of Sister Hazel, the Gainesville, FL group, have built a following so loyal that some fans travel to see up to 30 concerts a year. After forming in 1993, the band’s self-titled debut, which was actually a demo released to get gigs, was recorded in three days in a barn. Soon after, the guys recorded their “Somewhere More Familiar” album, which sold more than 30,000 copies independently before Universal took notice, signed Sister Hazel and re-released the album — which would become the label’s first platinum rock album. Lead single “All For You” was a No. 1 hit that charted in four different formats and served as many fans’ introduction to the band.

Trotline has become one of the most popular "country/southern rock" bands in the Southeast. Since originating in South Georgia in 1997, the five-member band has made their way from their home state of Georgia to Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, North and South Carolina, and even Texas. Performing more than 140 shows a year for the past 7 years, it didn't take long for the word to get out that Trotline was a must-have band for any event.

Gates will open for the event at 5:00 p.m. at Lake Martin Amphitheater and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.00. Children 6 and under will be admitted free. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Lake Martin Amphitheater gate. Visit our website at www.lmat.org for more information.

Lake Martin Amphitheater is governed by Lake Martin Arts Council, a private 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation that was established in order to provide a venue and opportunity to provide the Lake Martin area with entertainment, art and cultural events. Russell Lands is the founding and sustaining member of the LMAC.

ABOUT RUSSELL LANDS
In 1834, Russell family settlers from England fell in love with a tract of land in central Alabama. The Russells’ love for the land continued throughout the years. Nearly 100 years ago, news came of a huge new lake that would soon meander deep into their beloved forest. The Russells could envision the hundreds of miles of beautiful shoreline encompassing Lake Martin and today they continue to brag about the 44,000 acres of deep blue water that surrounds the old Russell Forest. That place is Russell Lands On Lake Martin. The company is one of uncommon vision, diversity and commitment to community - whose endeavors go beyond creating fine lake homes and communities. Willow Point Golf and Country Club, owned and operated by Russell Lands, is one of the most revered private clubs in Alabama and considered to have the “most beautiful lakeside golf course” in the country. Russell Crossroads, the new central town hub of Russell Lands On Lake Martin’s 25,000 acres of land holdings, is designed to reflect the agrarian era with period architecture of the 1920s promoting “walkability” of the town. Today, the town consists of the Discovery Center, Catherine’s Market and SpringHouse restaurant. Russell Marine offers boating enthusiasts world-class sales and service through four Lake Martin locations and is nationally ranked in the Top 10 Boat Dealers for the third consecutive year. Russell Do-It and Home Décor Centers in nine locations make it easier for homeowners to build and personalize the homes in which they live. In 1998, Russell Lands constructed the Lake Martin Amphitheater - a unique venue for celebrating culture and the creative arts. And the company continues to serve the community through Children's Harbor - the not-for-profit organization created by Russell Lands Chairman and CEO, Ben Russell - whose mission is to strengthen children and families through a variety of programs, services and good works.
